State Library of South Australia

The Spence Wing of The State Library of South Australia opened its doors in July 2003 and was the key outcome of a redevelopment project which completely refurbished the 1960s Bastyan Building. The project provides new links to the two historic Library buildings, the Mortlock Wing and the Institute Building.

Scope of Work

JML was awarded the design, supply and installation of the glass fin supported walls and roof to the entry structure of the State Library. The main front wall is supported by external triple spliced fins while a glazed bridge connects the new wing to the historic building. This project was a striking new addition to the historic state library of South Australia.
